I switched to a GEM Carbon. First impression : a lot smoother. Will shave several days with it to judge their performance.
That picture of the PAL blade box said "Industrial Blades" on it. I would have stopped there with those.

+1 Industrial blades are not made for shaving.
The SS blades that I got and use from Ted Pella all claim to be industrial blades. In fact I have never seen anywhere on the packaging that claims that they are even the 121-3 three facet blades that I ordered, but they are. I know because they shave so good. They are indistinguishable from lesser blades otherwise.

I use these, picked them up from Amazon. Have to say I get great shaves with them. I have used them in my Gem pushbutton and micromatic OC and got very close, very comfortable shaves. I do have a question. I threw away the packaging after opening them up and didnt look then, are these the Gem PTFE coated blades everyone are talking about or are these something different. Love these blades but would like the try the PTFE coated ones everyone is raving about if these are not them.

Last blade of the TryABlade sampler : GEM Stainless PTFE
Huge improvement! Night and day compared to all other blades.
They are sharp and extremely smooth. BBS easily achieved. They are comparable to the best DE blades, with the extra bonus of being 100% rigid (the secret behind great shaves).
I had to try several blades just to convince myself. Now that I did it, I see no point of using any other blade than the GEM PTFE.
