Pinyon (Piñon) Pine Man Cologne — Dame

Pinyon Pine Man sounds like my kind of superhero. It's certainly my kind (or, one of them) of fragrance: coniferous, dry, green, and redolent of the outdoors.

The bottle is the heaviest for a 100 ml I may have encountered. When the zombie hordes come for your fragrance collection, this bottle swung in a sock could be a mighty potent weapon.

Analogous fragrances (or, at least those which share a note or notes) include New West (Aramis), Polo (Ralph Lauren), Varen (Stirling), and Venezia (New Brand).

This brings up Piñon Pine Man's Kryptonite: performance. I reapplied it every two hours (or sooner) over a 10-hour period . . . and I think it could've been resprayed every 20 minutes. (Note: I'm not looking for "beast mode" or to clear rooms; it would be nice to have a little personal-space aura, though . . . because . . . if you, the wearer, can't smell a fragrance, what is the point?)

Pinyon Pine Man is a cologne concentration, and some folks are looking for a barely-there fragrance experience. (Maybe this will thrive, and then we can get a robust Piñon parfum!)

I'm really glad Dame has created this green, outdoorsy fragrance; I'm really sad this cologne (on my skin) is underperforming even a number of aftershaves.

Ever dance with a fragrance in the pale moonlight?

Dior Homme 2020 (from decant)

Continuing the decant journey. I have been sampling Dior Homme 2020 and Dior Homme Sport 2021 over the past days. I appreciate the overall performance and citrus emphasis of Homme Sport 2021. But it seems to come with a slight harshness both on top notes and dry down, when compared with Homme 2020. Homme 2020 reads more versatile and refined overall, but projection seems reduced. Sampling continues to push me to less sweet and more woody fragrances. Already have a new sample list starting for those. Smile
