I'm trying to move away from the prying eyes and services that make money off of my data. currently I'm using gmail but I'm looking at alternatives...
- protonmail is a little spendy for my blood..
- tutanota is affordable, but it only lets you send encrypted emails. if you try to send an email to someone who is not using tutanota, it requires a password to be set for the email, if memory serves me correctly. this isn't really feasible as I'd bet 99% of my contacts do not use said service..
- mailfence is also affordable and doesn't suffer from the above mentioned issues with unencrypted emails. it also integrates in with 3rd party apps to fetch your emails....if I go with this service, I'd likely connect to it using thunderbird on my desktop and fair email on my android phone.
what's everyone using?
