The Columbia River Gorge is 80 miles of fishing/boating/pretty much any outdoor activity you can think of and starts on highway 14 about 10 miles from my house.
EFDan - That is such a beautiful area. Did you ever go to the Eagle Creek Trail in the Columbia River Gorge? At one point you walk behind the waterfall - really neat.
