Finished up the hoshi tombo 8500 last night the resulting edge was insanely sharp , it was tedious but man did it mow through my beard I'm talking zero pressure, any pressure and I could feel it grab skin. Truly blew my mind on how sharp it was , just one pass and I was bbs!

Sent it through a shapton kuromaku progression 1k thru 5k, after moved to my aiwiitani jnat for a nagura progression year botan , botan, tenyju, mojito, koma, tomo. Wrapped up the session with what I call heavenly tomo slurry, which was matched to the base stone. The edge was left with a awesome kazumi finish that I wish I had a way to take a pic of to show you guys![Image: 4DrlfCu.jpg][Image: qxZUw8e.jpg]

Been all-in on the coticule after spending so much (more than a day's pay) on one in 2023, but this Sheffield had some toe uglies, and the Suhiro Cerax 1010 made quick work of them . . . and maybe only shined up the spine.   Followed with 3000, 6000, and 10,000-grit Wisconsin waterstones.  Tentative (hone water and leftover lather) shave strokes (including ATG) seem promising.
