I was scratching profusely putting all types of anti itch lotion on but nothing would curb it. I think I may have built up an allergy or something. Not sure if it was the soap or shampoo but I was using some of the Dr. Squatch bar soap and some kind of mainstream shampoo. An hour later my legs have finally stopped itching after I got back in the shower scrubbed them with some Shea butter and put deodorant on them. Figured the deodorant would put a layer of protection on it. I will be looking into some artisan soaps and shampoos!

it's hard to beat stirling bath soaps, IMHO.

I've actually used a gatlinburg sample and I have an electric sheep sample I'm going to use up soon. The small samples didn't last long, how long does the bigger bars last ?

depends on if I'm washing my entire body with the bar of soap or not. I typically mix using the bar of soap and some antibacterial body wash when I shower.

I'd say it'll last a good 3+ weeks.

I recently discovered this strange looking bar soap. It's called African black soap and looks like a block of pure shea butter. Can be found in most beauty supply stores for around $4 for a large bar. So far it has been moisturizing and comes in several scents. Lavender, lemongrass, and mango. I picked up the Mango and have been using it for a week or so. It can also be bought on amazon in bulk for a cheaper price, although there were some concerning negative reviews on certain brands. Wish I had found this stuff years ago since it has been helping with dry skin. Can't recomend it enough.

I just started using a bar of Catie's Bubbles bath soap in Tanned Cheeks scent - what a great soap and a great scent. I'd use a shave soap in that scent too. Really nice soap.

I just started breaking into my stash of Saponifico Varesino bath soaps. And they're awesome. Same great scents as their shave soaps. I'm really surprised that they can sell them for $5.80 per bar in those fancy boxes on their site. Definitely a top tier bar soap IMO.

my neighbors are from Ghana. They gave my wife and I several bars of black soap they brought back from their last trip to Africa. The soap looks like slices of meatloaf but it's probably some of the most pure black soap you can find. I still haven't had a chance to try it yet!

Crabtree & Evelyn triple-milled bar soaps, "bar none." Big Grin

They're on sale occasionally and I literally buy half a dozen at a time, one (or more) per scent. Each bar lasts me 3+ months. The lather is thick and creamy, very moisturizing and the scents are fantastic. Since I discovered them over a year ago, I use nothing but.

Highly recommended!

Yea it is some strange looking soap, that's for sure. hahaha it kind of does look like a chunk of meatloaf. It works great with one of those shower poofs, but some of the blocks will get holes in center from water exposure.
