Not so much something to have along, but how to pack. If the spare tire and tools will be buried under the rear deck, pull them out and put them in an accessible place so that you don't need to unpack everything to get to them.

Thank you everyone for sharing the list of helpful items to carry for the long road trip. Me and my brother are planning the road trip in the next month. So, I will make to carry all the items mentioned. Recently my brother bought a new pair of sunglasses from the fashion sunglasses distributors so that he can drive safely as it is a long road trip.

I keep a breaker bar, battery operated impact gun, and wheel sockets of varying sizes and a flashlight. I also have a 3-ton jack with almost 24 inches of lift. This makes changing a flat super easy.
