Screencaps from the 1955 film To Catch a Thief

I've been fascinated by the life of Harry Houdini since childhood. For the coming week I am using vintage posters and images from his life as my wallpaper.

For the next week I'll have screencaps from the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Well, I quickly tired of 2001, so I've changed to screencaps from the 2014 film Transcendence.

I decided I needed a little high-brow culture this week, so I'm using images of paintings by Dutch Golden Age artist Johannes Vermeer (1632-75). There has been argument for some time about whether or not Vermeer used the mechanical assistance of a camera obscura to create the perspectives of his works, and an interesting film about this, Tim's Vermeer, was produced in 2013.
