Viking soaps are really excellent. I have several soaps that many consider “top tier” such as B&M, Grooming Dept and Declaration Grooming and I find myself often reaching for Viking Soaps Old Norse and Citron. The lather generates quickly, protects well, is slick and has a great post shave. This soap loves water.
Thanks for starting this thread A. Feitar. I assume you mean the soaps found here, and not to be confused with the similarly named offerings on Amazon ("Vikings Blade" and "Viking Revolution"). BTW, getting back to the "real" Viking Soaps, I noticed that some are vegan and others are tallow. Have you tried both formulations, and do you have a preference?

I have only used the tallow from Viking and those who have used both from Viking heavily favor the tallow version. YMMV.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.” “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Andrew at Viking Shaving is making some nice brush handles. He pours and turns handles as well as sets some great knots. He has access to excellent high density badger knots and will set them in custom handles. I recently order this synthetic knot from him:

Unfortunately, Mr. Feitar had a problem with this knot (bunch of hair fell out), but all of the other folks who have used them have not had that issue and have given it solid reviews, so I'm chalking his up to a QC issue by the manufacturer. This one is a 26mm. We are in the process of reknotting it with a high density 2-band.
