So what's the issue.

Customer satisfaction with my products and my behavior are the most essential items I take care of after making sure I make products that some people enjoy.

As an artisan, I have boundaries which I must abide by. I can't insult customer or potential customers or threaten them in any way! The persistence of attacks is interesting. If you don't like something, please bring it up in forum, please consider decorum, I do!

I make a lot of mistakes, tons really. Because sometime I lack the foresight, and sometime I act too quickly. But when someone presents me with my errors, I think about it, and take actions to show that my actions are done in good faith. I change all the time, I must if I want to succeed in selling men's grooming products. I think I'm changing and Grooming Dept is growing, extremely fast, because of the products it delivers.

This is the method I alluded to, thank you! Even post on the forum but "decorum" matters, a great deal. On other occasions, here and on r/wetshaving, I found out criticism and pointers by wading through insults and personal attacks.

Max Sprecher is the one who raised the issues about how much less soap there will be when it becomes reasonably usable. I read what he said several times. I realized what a screwed up decision I made by sending out soupy soap. I took actions I fixed the issues. One refund, but over 45 emails from customers who congratulated me on acting promptly and making the customer happy.

I'll continue spending my money at artisans who don't send out defective soap the first time around. Smile Good luck on all your future endeavors! I'm intrigued to see just how low you can set the bar and still have people continue buying product! Push those boundaries!

Mohammad, as a business owner, I am glad you take customer service so seriously. There are a lot of businesses that don't. Yes, you made a mistake but sending out the soap but you are making it right. THAT is what matters. For someone to call you out as a thief over a soap label...........not cool.

I contacted you IMMEDIATELY upon opening my Veritas and realizing it was a hot mess. You responded back in a timely manner and offered me a refund (without having to return the Veritas) or a new container of soap. I chose a new container of soap. If after being left out I end up with 1/3 less Veritas soap in the first container, then I got 2/3 of a container of useable soap for free. Thats a win in my book.

Despite the soupy issues, the soap is really excellent. In the end, Mo will make it right. Even if your first order loses 50% to evaporation or leakage, the additional 4 ounces you receive will total in the end be more soap than you expected. I understand these “growing pains”. He is fortunate that he makes the best avant- guard products in the community, and has a loyal customer base.

Anyone that has not tried it, should. I will continue buying his products.

Be nice! Praise in public, chastise in private.

Is it just me or is it ironic that Mo’s Soupy “defective” soap is the best I have ever used? If his worst is the best on the market, he is in for a bright future.

This is what gets me. GD knew on the 12th exactly what he was about to ship out. GD knew on the 14th that people were receiving and having problems with exactly what he decided to ship out. Why should he get any credit on the 19th for admitting that it was a deliberate choice on his part to ship a defective product?

No, I don't have the soap in question. I didn't even know it existed until I started hearing about the consistency problems. And I got some good laughs out of the "I prefer this consistency" and "I lathered off the floor" stuff. Seriously, that's just funny stuff.

No, I don't have an axe to grind against GD. I've got a tub of After the Fire and it's just fine.

No, I don't really care about the art on the label.

I just don't think anyone deserves a cookie for eventually doing the right thing. If the teenbeast puts a big scratch on the car and comes to tell me immediately, that's great, you get a cookie. If the teenbeast puts a big scratch on the car then denies the car is scratched then finally admits it a week later, no cookie for you.

If my $25 shaving soap purchase arrived like that, I would've asked for a refund. I'll pass on the replacement. Far too many other great artisans out there with as good or better products, have their shit together and actually design nice labels without feeling need to appropriate someone else's art.

Don’t be afraid of the soup (saved you the time, or ruined your fun and made it soup for you YW) it’s lovely.

Mines well set up. And I’m getting another one.

I’m not going to get in on the “appropriation of art” argument. As a musician that’s a dead end road and most people know it.

As good - I’ll agree. Better -not for me. Enjoy your soaps and I’ll enjoy my SOUP ( oops I did it again...)
