I loaded the razor with a Personna lab blue (not the x-series pictured in my last post) and shaved my head and face with it. For reference, I prefer efficient razors, and my current favorite is the Yates 921-EH. I did two passes on my head using the side of the razor with the larger gap almost exclusively. I tried a few strokes with the milder side, and it didn't really feel like it was doing anything. I also used the larger gap/exposure side for the first two passes on my face. I tried using the smaller gap side to go against the grain. But again, it wasn't doing much for me. I'm sure that side would work better if I took the time to dial in the angle with it, but I just switched back to the larger gap to finish the shave.

I'd say that the "medium" side is more of a mild/medium, and the "mild" side feels extremely mild to me. The "medium" side was pretty nice, and I wish the razor had that gap/exposure on both sides. It was comfortable and gave me a nice shave. The "mild" side was way too mild for my liking, but I had a feeling that would be the case based on the specifications published on the website and Brian's description in his earlier post.

I was about to make a joke but then I looked at their website again and noticed they've changed some copy for the razor. Unless I'm misremembering, they used to describe the two sides as "mild and wild", but as you said they're now using "mild and medium"...

therealbriantwilley out of curiosity did you have any forumites act as testers before this was launched? Not a judgment question at all, really just curious.

1) Are the edges on the handle and baseplate sharp to the touch?
2) Is the square handle a "good idea", and easy to use...since it may keep the razor in the correct position to the face plane and likely prevent accidental slips and cuts??

Captainjonny
1. The edges on the handle and baseplate are not sharp to the touch. I added a picture below.
2. The square handle was actually very helpful when I was shaving the back of my head. It made it very easy to index the razor/blade in the right orientation when I couldn't see the razor. When I was shaving my face, I was mostly indifferent to the square handle.

Stickshift...
Thanks for the extremely focused close-up pictures you have provided. It does appear that their shop did "smooth out" the razors edges that you hold or touch to your skin. Your shave description is consistent with the youtube videos. The mild sided is too mild for all but the newest wet shavers, and the medium side is at the milder side of medium. If they offer a more aggressive version, I am more likely to try it.

The package I sent you skipped Atlanta, went to Palmetto GA. I wonder if they're having issues with Atlanta and now are diverting packages?

Yep, they have a new facility in I think Fairburn or something just out of Atlanta that's been causing all kinds of issues for awhile now.....

That's funny! Actually shows it's finally out for delivery today so it'll be here tonight. Thanks for the offer as it was probably getting lonely.
