I have noticed that some people mistakenly refer to non-tallow soaps as vegan soaps, which may be accurate in some cases but it is not in all.
Yeah but when someone says veggie soaps though...

I could be wrong here Andrew but I think there is a difference between vegan and veggie. For example, I believe lanolin can be used in a veggie soap but not a vegan soap. I may be wrong but I seem to recall reading about that back when I was researching ingredients for my own soap making hobby. Please correct me anyone if I am wrong here, but I seem to recall some vegan artisan soap makers that ensured nothing from an animal was used.

Yeah, I could see that now. I had thought both vegetarians and vegans refrained from eating/using meat and any animal products period but that seems to only be true for vegans.

If you are looking for a good Vegan soap that is sold as a puck (not a tub) check out Perfectly Natural.

Their soaps are sold as a 3oz puck for around $8 or so. Comes in a cardboard box, Very firm hard puck so good longevity, Scents are on the natural side and true to their description. Have been very surprised by this somewhat unknown artisan (on the fourms).

Another one to consider is Siliski Soaps. They offer 2oz samples that come in puck form. Top notch quality products for sure.

I think it's similar to how vegans and vegetarians differ with the foods they eat. Vegetarians often eat eggs for example whereas vegans do not. I cannot speak as an authority however, for I am neither a vegan or a vegetarian.

Bay Rum is a hit so far! Our favorite as well at MSC. Thanks for the support, Andrew  Smile

To clarify the confusion between vegan vs vege: Neither vegans nor vegetarians eat meat. However, while vegetarians tend to consume dairy products and eggs, a vegan avoids all animal products, including eggs and dairy, and often inedible animal-based products, such as leather, wool, and silk.

Thanks,
Omar

WSP has a line of vegan soaps. They’re great.
Bulgari Man in Black shaving soap is non tallow and is really nice.

I'll be trying it out for my head shave tonight. the puck is indeed very hard, which is what I was after.

I'll check them out, but I don't think WSP sells them in hard puck form. This is what I prefer for my head shaves as I rub the puck directly on my head.

I have Siliski's Santa's Pipe and it was a very soft soap. Not Croap level, but maybe dryish playdough feeling if I recall correctly. I don't shave my head, so I am uncertain if this would hinder the lathering process.
