Hello there fellow shavers!
I already opened a can of worms asking for good soaps and creams.
My next adventure is going to be for vegan soap bases and creams.
Any of you have recommendations?
I'm looking for something slick that whips peaks and if possible, offers good matching aftershave splash/balm/lotion.
Let's say money isn't an issue first, and bring out the big guns! But, realistically I'm a student so I always look for a good bang for my buck.

So, it has to be vegan, better with matching aftershave products.

Let's regard price per Oz, slickness, peaky latheras, ease of use, and post shave feel and conditioning. X-factors like packaging labeling and anything extra sure can get extra score.

Let's read your experiences!

Blessed shaves!

For bargain pricing, Col. Conk's glycerine based soaps are nice and slick, and pleasantly scented.

My favorite high-end vegan soap is Wholly Kaw 1776. I purchased it on sale and did not realize I was purchasing the vegan version. No matter. I love the scent and the performance is excellent. There may be a matching splash, but I can't comment on it.

Some veggie soaps are bad, some are good…
Much like cigars and whisky…ALL tallow/animal fat soaps are good, some are just better than others.
If you’re worried about baby seals, grow a beard.  (Although that brings up beard balm questions…)

Martin de Candre and Saponificio Varesino soaps are both vegan, triple milled and cost more than a government spec toilet seat.
They are are both excellent shaving soaps, although they can be somewhat questionable in their post shave.
PAA CK-6 soaps are just OK, although IMHO they’re not trustworthy as some can be quite lacking in the scent dept.

Beware, some of the old school English soaps have tried to boost profits by converting to veggie formulas (made in factories the size of some open pit mines) that are tallow free, and they’re not even good enough to give to your mother-in-law for bathing.  (New formula Geo Trumper is a miserable soap, and rumor has it that Tabac is soon to join the ranks of tallow free junk.)  Glycerin soaps are cheap and not even worthy of Christmas presents to people you don’t like.

I say choose the student-budget-friendly Stirling tallow products, get great shaves and be happy.
Disclaimer: YMMV

Sir, that's some good commentary!
I wish you well with the tallow!
Some of us have restrictions we believe in, some couldn't care less.
To each their own.

Happy shaves with whatever you use

I'm not the biggest fan of WK, but on the bounce of probability I'd try 1776.
I do use some tallow ones yet I'm finishing them up (and the ones coming in the mail) and changing up to vegan so I want my research done in advance.

I'm also not the biggest fan of glycerin soaps, they lack the feel of fatty soaps.

Anyways have a good one

Razor Emporium house brand vegan shave soap works VERY well for me. Lathers very easily. Very slick and creamy. Good post-shave feel sue to shea butter ingredient. I tried the Barbershop scent and liked it -- wanted unscented and was told this was very faint, which is true. Highly recommended.
