I do understand your point about people signing up for forums just to use the B/S/T though. That is bad form for sure.

I 10000000000% disagree with this. I joined other forums JUST for the B/S/T aspect without making one post. I read what information I thought was useful without being a member and wanted no part of the teenage drama that seems to surround shaving forums. I have found B/S/T useful in places I would never make posts in. This is the first time I have ever actually posted in a shaving forum.

We can agree to disagree then EFDan. Buying stuff is one thing I guess, but when someone joins a forum ONLY to unload product or charge exorbitant prices for razors/brushes, that's kinda lame. Especially if it's obvious that they're trying to make money...

Ok THAT is shady. I was looking at it from a buyer's perspective. I don't like reddit really, but I can't complain about their B/S/T forum. There are so many members over there that it makes for a large selection.

Thanks to all for your concerns. The video was meant to take on the issue of of hyperbolic descriptions while being semi-tongue in cheek. Also, I wasn't promoting whisky or any particular brand, just showing what I was drinking. I wasn't aware this was against the rules and if it is I certainly extend my apologies. Not sure why it would be, but still, apologies all the same.

Finally, when I say 'we' I don't presume to speak for everyone but rest assured I'm not just speaking for myself. I talk to folks in the community every day and the things I express are often things we've talked about many times as a group. So when I'm speaking on issues like this, it's just not my voice you're hearing, but rather the voices of a number of people and often time many people. A lot of folks have strong feelings they want to share but they won't voice it, and at times I'm their vessel. This doesn't mean I'm speaking for everyone and not even the majority, but definitely people who want to be heard but are reluctant to air it themselves.

For those who don't like this style of content there's plenty of other videos that focus solely on product if you're interested in that sort of thing. If not that's ok too. Watch, don't watch, I don't take it personally either way.

I'm sorry, but I don't think the man has done anything for wet shaving other than promoting the synthetic brushes to lame names such as 'Brush of the gods'

I agree with you to the extent that I haven't done any more than the rest of you. We're all talking about wet shaving here and I'm sure we all evangelize for it outside of the forums. I don't see myself differently as any of the rest of you.

Chris, you certainly have not broken any rules when it comes to the whisky.  I just see it as a completely separate topic and think they should be in separate places.  The Lounge is the perfect place for that and I think you would have a lot of us joining you.

As for the "we" vs. "I", I must admit that that is something that has always bothered me.  If, in your video, you had said something like "I have discussed this with others and we believe..." then I would have no problem with that.  In all fairness, you certainly cleared that up in the post that I am quoting here.

One last thing, while some disagreed with you about those over the top descriptions, I am with you on this so I guess that makes me part of the "we". Winking  I did find some of your examples quite funny while getting the point across perfectly.

Thanks Freddy. I appreciate your candor and efforts to keep things on the up & upSmile I admit it, I did overdo it but it was a mostly a failed attempt at sarcastic humorSmile

Well at least you responded. It's nice to see you having exchanges with us here rather than just posting a video and being done with it. I think many of your videos are informative, I may not always agree with your opinions but so what, that doesn't matter, we all make up this amazing community of gents (there are ladies too of course) where we conduct ourselves as gents and honorable people.

Just a few hours ago I was browsing reddit and saw a post from a fellow shaver thanking someone for buying a kit for them when they have almost given up on wetshaving, the guy requested nothing in return but to PIF it as well in the hopes it would help others as well; Or the other time when various members of another forum offered a guy brushes for free when he couldn't afford one. This is what makes me like being part of this community. I'm pretty much done with buying a lot of stuff, but I'm staying for the exchange of ideas and insights.

Not trying to be dramatic but it's nice to know you're in community mainly composed of good people.
