The youtube wet shaving pundits always give their top 5 blade picks. I want to know what your 5 favorite blades are and why...
Mine:
1. Feather
2. Personna Lab Blues
3. Rapira Swedish Supersteel
4. PolSilver Super Iridium
5. Gillette Silver Blue
My list is based solely of Face Feel, Sharpness, and Performance. I don't care that at least 3 on this list cost upwards of $30 for 100 blades, it's still cheaper than cartridge razors!

I use three different types of razors depending, mostly, on whim. The Feather AC kamisori-style razor, DE razors, and SE razors. So:
For the Feather/Kai razors:
1. Kai Captain Mild. They are smooth, and get smoother, and last. I can easily get 20 shaves per blade with no noticeable loss of sharpness.
2. Feather Pro Guard. Very smooth and sharp. More comfortable than the Feather Pros and longer lasting.
3. Feather Pro Super. Thicker than the others and wider so you have more blade exposure, but quite smooth.
4. Kai Captain with the Guard. Same as Feather Pro Guard, but a little less smooth at first.
5. Feather Pro. Good blade, usually smooth from the first shave but lacking longevity. 6 - 8 shaves per blade.
For DE razors:
1. Rapira Swedish Supersteel. Smooth, sharp, and durable. Maybe ten shaves per blade.
2. Personna Lab Blues. Sharp and smooth. Too bad they are soon to be extinct if whoever now owns Personna makes good on their desire to end the blade business.
3. Astra SP. Just great smooth sharp blades with fairly good longevity for a DE.
4. Astra Blue. Same as above only a little less smooth.
5. Israeli Personna blades aka Crystal Blades. Smooth and sharp. I also like pretty much all of the Gillette O'Clock blades.
For SE razors:
Not much to say here. The Ted Pella blades x 5. Sharp. Smooth. Very durable. I can get about 15 shaves per blade, easily. Am lamenting their imminent demise as I believe they are made by Personna.
To my surprise, Feather DE blades really don't like my face or vice-versa. Given a choice between a Feather and a Derby, I'll take the Derby. But this is about what you like, not what you don't.
