I am two shaves in the the titanium Blackbird using the Personna blades included in the package and, as usual with titanium, I have no idea why, but the shave is smoother and more comfortable than with my polished SS Blackbird while being just as efficient.  Overall, I couldn't be more pleased.  I love the weight and feel of it as well.  It is a razor that I want to go back to the next day.  The SS I often wanted to take a day off from, as I am not all about efficiency, but the titanium is fantastic.  I also seem to intuitively get the right angle with the titanium in a way that I didn't always with the SS.  Another example of I don't know why.  Anyway - thanks Shane for pulling this off!

Awesome! Yes, that's been exactly my experience and I'm so glad that you're enjoying the Ti, too. It's been surprising how much the different material impacts every facet of the shave despite having the same geometry.

I’ve shaved twice with mine. I have never been as comfortable with a Feather DE blade not biting me. I prefer the close shave with a Feather but with previous razors I always was cautious so typically used Astras.

Any firm date yet for when the polished titanium will drop?

No ETA. It’ll be a while.

Would "a while" be 2 months? 6 months? A year?

I don't want to be dismissive, but I really don't have an ETA. As soon as I get some indicator I'll gladly share that with you guys. I promise!

Also the titanium has made me appreciate and understand (on a skin level) the angles of the sides of the top cap on the Blackbird and the plane that they make with the sides of the baseplate.  Makes it harder to contemplate using a razor with a rounded top cap after using the titanium Blackbird for some reason - well, that might be an overstatement, but let's just say that after using the Ti Blackbird I really like the BB angled top cap.

The Ti BlackBird turned out to be the razor that killed my interest in other safety razors, with perhaps one exception - a polished Ti Blackbird with a 101mm handle Smile
I thought it would be impossible to improve on the SS or Brass BlackBirds, but I was incorrect, though my other Birds will remain my closest number one-and-a-half.
Shane, you did it!

THANK YOU!

You’re very welcome! Thanks for your support!

Got back to the Ti this morning after only using prototypes lately and it was wonderful. I really do love this thing and I’m happy you guys seem to, as well.

The Titanium wouldn't happen to be on sale during Blackland Friday would it? Asking for a friend...
