The Timeless (.095) and Blackbird both arrived in my den last week and I've had a chance to try them both twice with a Polsilver blade

Both razors are extremely high quality and feature perfect machining.

The Timeless is a bit more aggressive than I was expecting, but not too bad. It's a big beast of a razor and I love the unique look. I feel like I could break a window out with this thing. Lots of weight, but still nicely balanced.

The Blackbird has a much different character. It's feels like it's built for speed and has that exotic sports car vibe going. It took me a minute to find the correct cutting angle (shallow is where it like to be). There is a bit of a learning curve with this guy, but holy cats, it gave me perhaps the best shave of my life. Perfect.

The better shave experience...? so far it's the Blackbird for me... but again, I only have 2 shaves with each and they are both quite different!

I’ve used both an open comb (black oxide) and a safety bar (machined finish) Blackland Blackbird, as well as a 0.95 mm open comb (polished) Timeless Razor. All with some of my favorite blades.

The Timeless is a great shaver and something of a classic looker, whereas the Blackbird has a more contemporary vibe to it. I enjoyed my shaves with the Timeless, but have not yet come across a better razor than the Blackbird. Although its blade gap of 0.58 mm is significantly smaller than the Timeless, for me it is at least as efficient, and a bit smoother.

Incidentally, I use a rather shallow angle on the first pass with the Blackbird, for two reasons: 1) A steep angle on all passes could lead to skin irritation because of the extreme efficiency of the razor. 2) If I were to use a very steep angle on the first pass, there would be virtually nothing left to shave on the second pass, and where’s the fun in that?

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Great. I love my Timeless. Now I'm going to have to try one of these Blackbirds.

My wife hates you guys.

Funny you mention the Timeless heft and that one could break a window with it. That is the EXACT description I used with friends when lending out to try. I like it despite owning a BBS amongst others with more of katana quality v the broadsword Timeless.
