That is true.  I have always wondered about the poor souls on forums that bash people like Chris Bailey.  "Well, he sucks and he is controlling all of the shaving content going out to thousands of peoplezz!1!"

Like you said, none of these guys have the stones to make their own content or videos so they should just STFU until they do.  If it wasn't for Geofatboy and Mantic I would never be in the spot I am now.  In 2012 I seriously on a whim just thought, "There has to be a better way to shave," and ran into those videos late one summer night.

And people need to understand these guys making videos are just sharing their views and their own experiences, is not Gospel.  They are very helpful and I have benefited from tips here and there.  But when they say "I don't like the scent of soap X" I understand is not my fact but theirs.

Some gents get too wrapped up around these videos instead of working on enhancing their own technique.

Didn't watch much past the soap puck followed up by the canned shaving cream.Got lost reading the 'experts" eviscerate the poor guy.

Comments section on YouTube is pretty raw I see.

My first couple DE shaves weren't perfect. My current ones might not be either. I never bled in so many places at once as that. My worst mishap was a Gillette TTO that I loosened to rinse and forgot to re-close.

He posted it- is what amazes me. Dead pan full on unflinching serious too.

The guy has good intentions it seems. Just felt like he did zero research beforehand.

If he had ended it with a huge "TaDaaa" with Jazzhands I might have lost it.

He said he'd been shaving 1 month, but I don't believe he'd been shaving every other day, let alone every day. I'm thinking more like once or twice a week. I mean I was terrible when I started, but I shaved my face 5 times in the first week, taking 2 days off (not consecutively) due to razor burn - and I learned enough in that first week that I had less blood in week#2's 6 shaves (combined) than he did on even half his face in that 1 partial shave video.

Btw, looks like his wife posted that video - it's a woman's YouTube account. Interesting that he/she hasn't replied to any comments, or posted any further shaving videos in the 2 months since it was uploaded.

I hope you were joking, but am not sure. He did say had "a thick 5 o'clock shadow", but that's not 1 day's growth.

Wow is right. Ugh, I've never seen so much blood! And there's no way that's a "5 o'clock shadow". That was like a 2 week beard!

Bare with me here, but does "5 o clock shadow" not refer to a day's growth because that's what you look like by 5 o clock that day?

After watching this 'high pressure' safety razor demo I almost decided to switch back to an electric mower.

His watch must have stopped working a week or so ago at five o'clock.

I wonder if he wonders why his puck has such a wondrous shape - like a puck.

His grasp of the razor for the against the grain pass is --- unique --- suicidal.

Well, it was interesting if somewhat gory.

He, sadly, left out the best, most exciting part which was when he applied after shave lotion.
The dance and sound effects must have been spectacular.

I am eagerly looking forward to the sequel.

I can't help but wonder how many shaves he has had with that blade.

As was pointed out, though, at least he thought he was helping others. He may soon be getting on the right track.

This video is a good example of the Dunning-Krager effect. He has no idea how much he doesn't know. He actually offered advice to anyone who had questions. He really believed as bloodied as he looked on camera that people would ask his advice. That isn't courage. It's hubris, especially since he had only one month of experience. It is my considered opinion as a mental health professional that these sorts of videos are more for attention than actual sharing of expertise. Social media has provided a great outlet for the narcissists among us.
