Not trying to dissuade you, but you might find the Vector's regular plate a tad mild if you enjoy the Blackbird. I found this plate too mild and I greatly enjoy the Blackbird. I've never tried the Vector's OC plate, though, but from my understanding it is still not as efficient/aggressive as the Blackbird.
Again, not trying to discourage you, but just thought you might want to know.
Good luck.

As others here have said, get the standard plate (or both if you really want to). For a more Blackbird-style shave, you could also be a candidate for Feather ProSupers to bump up that blade exposure/feel. I'd start with the standard plate and a standard blade like a Feather Pro. Feel free to reach out to support@blacklandrazors.com if you need any help choosing.

I bet with a Feather Super Pro blade it would be every bit as efficient

Hopefully, it works out for him, either way, as it is a beautifully made razor. I loved its sleek design.

Thanks Shane, I really appreciate your involvement in the hobby. I will get the SS regular setup soon.

Interesting tidbit, off topic. I have been doing a head to head between the Blackbird and the Apex. You will be pleased with my findings so far. Much more testing to do. I think I have had to come up with some new nomenclature to describe the findings LOL

Thanks for the kind words!

Hadn't heard of the Apex so I wasn't aware it was cross-shopped with the Blackbird. Good to know!
