many thanks for this,  now this post really concerns me, since we are talking of a $500 brush.  This leans me a bit more to the range,  i need something safe since I wont be able to sell it since this will be one my wife's 10 year anniversary gifts)

Ranger is great. Mega is great. Gaslamp is great. Although I know people that dislike all of these too so

Cauldron looks the safest from an ergonomic perspective. Very clean and simple with no ridges that some may find uncomfortable

I agree with all of this, though the Gaslamp is my least favorite of the handles so far. I don’t dislike it, I just don’t like it as much as the others. I think the Mega is an underrated handle shape. And the Orion is possibly the most underrated handle shape of all. You’re right about getting multiple perspectives.

I love my mega. Very comfortable the way I hold a brush.

all of you guys were super super helpful! this forum is full of many great and helful folks! I went with Ranger 29mm (traditional knot HD) in ivory matte finish. Just to keep it classy.

Great choice. The low light ivory is terrific.

I tried searching through google and his page, but cant find a pic of a Matte Cement finish (even better if its a ranger cement matte, but any model would work). Does anyone have Varlet Cement Matte that can share a pic?
