I didn't get BBS everywhere.  More accurate would be to say above the jaw excluding the mustache area and lower lip.  Going with the grain I get a good close shave everywhere.

Are there folks that get BBS everywhere?

Pete, it's great to hear your wet shaving adventure is going well. It's so nice when your mind and hand work perfectly together to deliver a superb shave.

As far as BBS goes, I can count on one hand the number of BBS's I've gotten over the 10 years I've been wet shaving. Do I regularly get great shaves? Absolutely. But get BBS everywhere all the time? Hardly. I used to try for it, but found I'd just end up getting hellacious razor burn and bumps. Now I don't shoot for it and always get real nice shaves.

Say, since you're in Nashvegas, check out TheShaveMercantile. He's an online retailer in your neck of the woods and a fine fellow.

Congrats, Pete! Your practice and perseverance is paying off for you.

The skill in going for a BBS is to do so without irritation, or with your skin feeling so 'raw' that you can really feel it when you go outside.

A tip some shavers use is to rub an alum block lightly over the skin after the final pass and a cool water rinse, and if it burns, you've probably done too much. A slight tingle, and you're ok.

Good prep, a good lather mix, and good technique with the razor can go a long way!

Anyway, well done!

Michael, I use alum and that is a great guideline.

Ketchuegrast, Thanks for the tip on The Shave Mercantile. I'll check them out. Also, great suggestions. I'm the type to stay after perfection and get razor burn, etc...
