I'll be exploring the whole Christy family* this month. Last night and this morning I used this mint 1926 Christy Massage Bar (sounds like someplace I may or may not have visited in Bangkok..). After stropping the Christy blade was definitely capable of a socially acceptable to DFS shave but not real comfortable. Fortunately a standard injector or trimmed AC works ok here. There can be some blade float as it's only compression keeping the blade in place, but I had no problem. For the head shave I just scotch taped the blade in place to be safe. I didn't bother for the beard and the Personna injector stayed in place. All good here.

The last few shaves I have used my Schick injector, it has been a while since I used it. I'm happy I went back to it after so long, I forgot just how damned smooth it cuts through the stubble, no tugging or anything. I still have a small problem area with it on my throat, but I just shaved again I got the hang of it. For some reason, no matter what razor I used DE or SE, on the right side of my throat I have to make an up pass, it's across the grain, if I make a down pass I end up cutting myself each time, must be how I am holding the razor, maybe I end up putting more pressure as my arm comes down with the stroke?

No idea.

Anyway, happy to be back with the old school injector Big Grin

Everready 1912/ Gem ptfe ( 1 )
Stirling 24mm finest
SV Felce aromatica soap
Victoria & Margaret green tea toner

This razor looks to have never been used, nothing on it but dust. I have a handful of 1912s but this is my new favorite!

Any difference between the vintage Personna and the current Personna PTFE SS?

That is beautiful razor! If you don't mind me asking, where did you find it?
