This is my first use with both this razor and this type of blade (Artist Club) and I am very impressed, even with the razor's known flaw of blade placement.

What did you think? Do you like the width of the blades?

I am not sure if today is an official workday for me or not.  Either way I am going to the office and see what I can get accomplished.  Up for today is one of my gold standard work morning lineup.  Each item just simply works great for me.  The Envy White knot in the Elite Ironwood "Amigos" brush has a huge amount of backbone and scrub.  This backbone of the brush easily surpasses that of any boar brush I own or have tried.  The MdC lathered up easily as expected.  I have discovered taking time to properly hydrate the lather makes the lather slicker and improves the shave.  Two passes, XTG & ATG, followed by some touch ups ended in a near BBS.  After 16 shaves, the Feather Super Pro is done.  I finished off the shave with a splash of Fine Lavender.  I hope everyone has a great Monday

So pleased with yesterday's performance, shimmed Damaskeene again, this time with a fresh GEM stainless and shave oil only. Unlike yesterday's carbon blade, this blade made it through the full head shave with flying colors, no temptation to touch up with the Hawk. I'll be able to judge this evening whether it shaves as close on the beard as its carbon brother but a superlative shave.

jmudrick, what did you use for a shim? I'd like to try that. Thanks.

I used an old style injector blade (thicker than current specification). Alternative is half a spine off a GEM SE or two modern injector blades, or best of all one modern Schick twin blade. I find the old injector blade the most convenient but as soon as I have a dull Twin I'll switch to that as it more precisely reproduces the spine thickness of the original SE blade.

I'm convinced the GEM Blue Star gives one phenomenal shave. Evening and morning after check-ins with the GEM stainless did not live up to the standard set by the virgin Blue Star. So I went back to another Blue Star Damaskeene shave for the beard - - shimmed with two modern injector blades - - , the General with a Dorco blade for the head shave. In addition to confirming my love for a fresh Blue, it also confirmed my preference for standard size injector razors for the head shave. I never get weepers with the standard but managed one with the Dorco. I think I'll stick to touch ups with these skullwise.
