They're hopefully the same as the Switchback which is the same as the Rubberset 400. 24mm knots from TGN fit just fine and probably any 24mm synth. Something like Nathan Clark's knots you'll need to get his 22mm knot.

I don't know off hand the opening size, but I never had any issues with anything I bought from TGN listed as 24mm. I had to go smaller on my Envy White knot and just barely got a 24mm Envy Luxury Silvertip to work. The Envy White wouldn't even go to the hair.

I'm thrilled to be getting these handles. Pleasant surprise to see them available today.

The new razors look cool. Spendy. Very cool though. I'm hesitant about the aggressive description though. Damn my sensitive skin...

I figure if a 24mm knot measures true at 24mm at the base, then the handle would need to be 1 to 2mm larger. It sounds like the PAA handles are probably larger diameter to handle the 24mm knots. Both Vig Shaving knots I bought are very dense. The 2 band measures 28mm with my caliper coming out of the handle, and it's a 26mm knot. Also, the Silvertip gets a couple mm wider above the glue base, which is why I want to be sure I get a handle that is large enough diameter inside. I might just try to make my own wooden handle on a lathe.

I have sensitive skin too, thus the description has me worried too. I avoid all things aggressive and instead opt for mild and efficient. The PAA DOC is awesome, and fits that bill nicely. I use it for 2nd pass on my face, not my neck, and for clean up. I consider it the best clean up razor I have ever used, and especially for getting my mustache and chin areas. Anymore the AS-D2 and DOC are the perfect combination for me.

Will the new handles actually take a 24mm knot measure at the base of the knot? I'm asking because some handles that say 24mm actually measure 24mm inside and will not handle a 24mm knot, thus the need for a 1 to 2mm larger handle.

They will take a 24mm knot just like my original Switchback and the Rubberset 400! Smile

Agreed. The DOC is a very good and gentle razor and it's fast becoming one of my favorites. I am excited to hear that there is a stainless version but I am also hesitant because it might be too aggressive for my sensitive skin. In any case I am glad to hear this is part of the regular line, we can still wait for reviews and try to gauge if this will work for us.

The DOC is fantastic. If I shaved the night before and I needed to shave the next morning, it's the DOC I always get.

Just bought the aluminum one. Love the DOC so I'm really curious to try a more aggressive model. Also replaced my gondolier soap and AS.

I haven't bought anything for six months.........I was doing great.........**** you Douglass (that last part was from my wife).

I screwed up and got the 3.25 inch handle when I wanted the 3.5 inch. Hopefully they catch my email before they fill the order, if not, oh well lol.

You should email PAA direct. I have had fast response from them on the past when going that route.

I did I'm sure it is fine. If not I can't complain about what I ordered I'm the one who made the choice. They fill orders pretty fast.
