Ahh The Peregrino, the 5th installment of our EPIC, Retro Brush shave line, a pilgrimage in itself that we began so many years back, now bears more fruit in this homage to the classic, vintage [font=system-ui, -apple-system, system-ui,]Ever-Ready 500E![/font]

The Peregrino is also our first attempt at a Celluloid Style handle, too! To be clear (pun kind of intended), it's not actually celluloid but is acrylic. Acrylic is pretty awesome[font=system-ui, -apple-system, system-ui,] and versatile like that![/font]

[font=system-ui, -apple-system, system-ui,]The Vintage 500E[/font]


[font=system-ui, -apple-system, system-ui,]There is something down right "Oz" about the 500E, and this all can't be explained away by the color. It's something else. To say it is visually stunning is an understatement...but it really, really is.
For that reason, this can be a tough vintage piece to track down in the wild and also for those very same reasons, we had to take a stab at it!
Much in the same way we designed our Atomic Rocket, we took the same liberties with The Peregrino. Meaning, we beefed it up a little more than the original. It is actually bigger than the Atomic, if you can believe that![/font]

[font=system-ui, -apple-system, system-ui,]However, unlike the Atomic Rocket's 26mm knot I opted for a 24mm hybrid (Fan/Bulb), in the end and it wasn't a tough call, it really just felt right. This was after experimenting with over 10 different synthetic makes, sizes and models! Seriously, there was a real harmony and balance to this combination. You will experience what I mean as soon as you give this baby a whirl I promise![/font]

[font=system-ui, -apple-system, system-ui,]Before any of our brushes are released they must pass a simple test aside from quality control and performance, it needs to move me. It has to appeal to something deep inside me that I really can't describe in words, that I should not need to describe in words. It must evoke this same feeling in our customers too...or what's the point?
A Shave Peregrino[/font]

[font=system-ui, -apple-system, system-ui,]Lastly, we get to the name. Peregrino is Spanish for Pilgrim. Many of you know by now we select our product names with much thought and care, The Peregrino sticks to the script in this regard truer than most. As I cryptically hinted at where this sales page began, I believe we are all Peregrinos or Pilgrims on this sacred, traditional wet shaving road, paved with lather and probably lined with aging Burma Shave signs.[/font]

[font=system-ui, -apple-system, system-ui,]Just like pilgrims on a holy trek it is always our own experience, no one else's and no one can take that away from us or define it in absolutes. This parallel is seen everyday in the many groups and forums we participate in by the constant mic drop phrase, Your Mileage May Vary. We often compare traditional shaving to ritual and ceremony, which no doubt it is in an obvious kind of way, but might I say it is even more;  a great, epic, daily journey or quest. And with every passing new day we get closer to somewhere that really doesn't matter. What really matters and where the real joy is found and felt, is the act of the journey itself.[/font]

[font=system-ui, -apple-system, system-ui,]The design on the bottom of the handle is not only the sun rising or a scallop shell (symbol of the pilgrim), but also a visual representation of all the different paths one can take to get to the same destination. Enjoy the journey my friends![/font]
