No bones with Oristo from us, we love and embrace free market capitalism.

Fantastic attitude, razorock: It's so nice to see that your strategy is to take an almost universally praised razor and make it even better. I don't have an original Black Mamba, but am on the notification list for the new one.
Marko , Matsilainen thanks for the good advice: I didn't think there would be much difference in maintenance. I don't use abrasives on my razors, just the standard toothbrush, hot water, Dawn and sometimes Scrubbing Bubbles. Out of an abundance of caution, a spray with alcohol, air drying, and then a 10-minute Barbicide soak on a new addition to the den.
I'm very pleased with the performance of the razor based on a handful of shaves: They had an interesting video as part of their Kickstarter that demonstrated the glide on this coating compared to the uncoated and compared to the first version of their coating. This translated to a very smooth-feeling, effortless sensation while shaving.
While I still like the aesthetic of a shiny stainless razor, I'm very glad I got this.
And, of course, I'm looking forward to the new Black Mamba because...well, just because
All the best,
