In my experience, it just makes the forums less enjoyable. I uninstalled it years ago. I use the full desktop version on Chrome, too.

I only use TapaTalk on my smartphones, on my iPad Pro and my iMac 27" and on my Windows PC at work, I vastly prefer the regular browsers.

But on smaller screen and on the go, in trains, plains and out in the city, I find it much more comfortable to use TapaTalk as my forum reader.

I agree it has been buggy, and still is, but the positives - for me - FAR outweighs the negatives.

I can perfectly understand forum administrators disliking, even hating, TapaTalk, because it creates a lot of problems for them with the bugs in the program, but for a good deal of us forum users/readers TapaTalk is just a nice little great app.

Honestly I sometimes don't even bother reading forums on the go, if they don't support TapaTalk, because using a regular browser on a small screen, where you have to zoom in and out constantly, unless you have SUPERMAN VISION, is just a pain in the donkeys arse Big Grin

Even with the bugs, I would rate the TapaTalk app a 9/10, and as said, it's by far my favourite app on my two iPhones.

The benefits are,t hat you can have all your forums on one site, and you don't even visit the login site, it goes directly on the forum.
Once you have tried it for some time, it's very difficult not to continue use, because it just works so much faster and easier - and if you use the white letters on black theme in the app, everything is just so much more readable on the go.

Sure the regular browsers will do just fine, but to my eyes and on my iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus, Tapatalk is just far superior as forum reader.

I have tried it, I hate it, it is (for me!) garbage.

Interesting Freddy - one mans gold, another mans garbage.

Tapatalk is a golden app to me, and one of the apps I most frequently use on my two smartphones, I simply love it !

+1. I use an Ipad 95% of the time, and it makes forum hopping, getting alerted to quotes or replies etc a breeze. It is glitchy, and you do miss out on a lot of the little things you get on the web page, but it is an easy deal for mobile.

I would like to point out that in addition to adding the tapatalk plugin when Andrew asked me to make this site he also asked me to make it "responsive" - I use an ipad and a mini-smartphone for browsing DFS and they both work fine without tapatalk.

I personally prefer smaller smartphones (currently on an iPhone SE) to large screen ones. Tapatalk clears out all the clutter of a website and just shows the forums. Nice and clean. I could never browse our forums on a 4" screen using Chrome or Safari, but I have zero issue at all with Tapatalk. If I had some mega sized smartphone I would probably use the mobile site, but even the mobile site is difficult on a small screen. Tapatalk has zero issues on a small screen.

BTW, the current bug is a Tapatalk / MyBB bug as I only have this issue on MyBB sites.
