Ryan @ Tallow + Steel Curious question about your bases.... was the Merry release last fall in V2 or V3? I have enjoyed that very much, both with scent and performance.

Merry was V3. I’m glad you liked it - I think it is one of my fav scents we’ve made!

I'm a bit late to the party (thanks international shipping) but had my first shave with Orangeilla yesterday. I love this scent more than I imagined. The dark, dense, creamy lather was just amazing.



Ryan @ Tallow + Steel, what is the vanilla content exactly? An essential oil, extract, absolute? It was phenomenal. Well done! I know you said Orangeilla won't come back, but I hope you make something else that is vanilla heavy.

I can't wait to try it. I'll get to next week when we fly home to visit family, it's waiting for me there.

Glad you like it! We used a vanilla extract - cheaper than the absolute which is now ridiculous in price ($15,000+ per kg), but even this extract is getting very expensive.

For that reason, we probably won’t be able to do many other vanilla scents in the near future. This also means that the cost to produce Madagascar is going up quite a bit, and I’m hoping we will be able to continue to offer it.

Dark Two arrived yesterday.  Very  nice scent off the puck.      

I am looking forward to shaving with it.

Started my day with Dark Two and matching AS. As with all V3 bases, performance was outstanding, post shave excellent and  this scent is delicious!

After reading previous posts, the only question now is if I need to get a "back stock" of Madagascar   Thanks

Let me clarify - no need to order duplicates! We have enough material to produce Madagascar for the summer and maybe even fall. We will re-evaluate later in 2019.
