We all know about the recent USPS price increases.  Since then, it has been really bothering me charging nearly 50% of the price of a soap just for priority mail.

With my shipping platform, first class mail also comes with tracking that is automatically emailed to customers.

I’ve also noticed that first class doesn’t take that much longer to get to you, if at all.

That said, I’d like to know what is more important to you.  Price or speed?  Would an extra day or two bother you if the shipping cost were $3 or so?

I vote for speed, first class might take up to 10 days to get delivered, USPS increased the prices but the service remains the same

Although I greatly appreciate a quick turn on shipping, if it becomes too large a % of the overall cost I would rather wait a couple extra days and save the money.

Not like I am going to run out of any shaving gear anytime soon and although I can be impatient at times, it's not in this area!

PS I recently shipped an essentially zero weight package in a priority mail small size box. Even wrapping it to ship best way it was $17USD! Absurd.

I'm on the side of saving the money - I'll look at the shipping cost relative to the cost of the product. I've cancelled orders in the past when the cost of shipping is approaching 50%+ of the cost of the item. I'll almost always opt for the free shipping if its offered regardless of how long it takes to deliver. I'll also compare prices among vendors to determine if I'm actually paying for the free shipping through higher product pricing - Amazon Prime does this. I want to be able to compare apples to apples.

I'm with kwsher on this, Paolo. It's not as if I have no shaving products at all and waiting a few extra days just adds to the anticipation. The only time I can think when speed would be more important is if I was purchasing a birthday gift for someone, as an example, and time was of the essence. Then I would be willing to pay extra for Priority shipping.

The answer, of course, is both. Offer a low-cost, slower option and a more expensive, faster option. I will say, though, that I've often put soaps in my cart to make a purchase, only to exit without buying once I saw the shipping cost. So if I have to choose one, I choose slow and cheap.

I have great patience, when I choose to, and much too many products, so I would rather save on shipping and wait a few days, but since I am in Canada, that means waiting a few weeks.   Big Grin

Speed for me, because I don't like the soap been exposed to the heat or cold for too long. Price doesn't matter to me.

Let me be the one to muddy the waters...

It really depends on what I am ordering. If it is something that I have already been patiently, and anxiously, saving up to purchase, I am more than happy to spend a couple extra dollars to get faster shipping.

If it is something blase, that isn't terribly expensive or important, I will save a couple bucks and wait longer.

In the end, the more choices I have, the more likely I am to make a purchase. Give me options, and I am happy...

I've noticed that many times (95%) or so first class mail and priority mail have the EXACT same speed. Many times someone I trade an item with will send their item to me priority and I always use first class. We have always gotten our wares the same day.... I don't care how someone ships when I trade with them so let me be clear I'm not asking them to ship priority and then only shipping first class in return Smile I've done about 10 trades this year and 10 for 10 same day both directions with priority vs first class. And, first class includes 50.00 insurance and a tracking number as well.
