Sweater Comeback?

This photo, on the home page of our local county library, caught my eye because the sweater that the boy is wearing has the same pattern as one I wore when I was a teenager, over 50 years ago. I always thought of it as my Andy Williams sweater. (I guess I was really uncool, because I liked the music of Andy and of Perry Como back then.) Are sweaters like this making a comeback??

John, did that style ever really leave? The kid looks great in it, too.

That would be an argyle sweater (vest) - a classic. I have a couple now and some socks with the pattern. As far as I'm concerned, classic never goes out of style.

FWIW I like Andy Williams, the sweater, and Perry Como too. But my overriding impression - and please forgive me for straying off point John - is that I like everything about the picture. Some things have come a long way. Some things never change. Happy Father’s Day.

I have a pair of argyle socks and have definitely had an argyle sweater or two over the years.  I think it is a classic never goes completely out of style.

My wife's in a constant state of rage over how hard it is to find argyle socks in tiny female sizes...
