Haha...both were rescues and are very shy...

My cat is 4 years old and has only let us pet her within the last year or so. She was born wild to a feral mom, and had 2 fused vertebrae that had broken and healed by n6 weeks old. She doesn't like people, cameras, noises, or really anything but food and the occasional pets from me and my kid.

My Cockatiel was in a cage in a pet shop with 15 other cockatiels getting beat up all the time. He had been beat up so bad he had no feathers on his head or back. When I asked the store owner about him, she knew I have a TON of experience in both parrot husbandry and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, so she said if I wanted to take him, I could have him and a cage just so he would not get beat up anymore. He freaks out anytime I get a camera near him...

I'll try, but they both freak out with cameras...

Thanks for the information, Chris. If your pets are that skittish then, by all means, skip the photos. From what you have written here, those two have certainly earned their peace and quiet.
