Today was a CaD kind of day! A leisure Sunday after a very good church experience last night. My wife is away for the weekend so I've been taking more time than usual to get more competent with my skills. I again (like yesterday) compared and contrasted the Pearl Flexi with the Razorock Game Changer .84. Today is day 2 on the GC and my experience was better than yesterday - I took my time, was more careful. Although I found myself holding my breath a lot!

Shower: Stirling Mountain Man
Preshave: PAA Cube 2.0 wash, then applied ATG after wash
Soap: PAA CaD
Razors: Pearl Flexi, Razorock Game Changer .84
Blades: Nacet in Pearl, Day 2 Astra Green in GC
Post Shave: Cold rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel+Aloe, unscented, cold rinse
After Shave: PAA CaD
Post Shave Balm: Nivea Sensitive Balm
Mustache Oil: Grave Before Shave Bay Rum

I did nick myself a couple times, but no where near as bad as yesterday. No styptic pencil needed today! The Pearl continues to be a great shave - I lowered it to a setting of 3 for WTG, and 2 for XTG/ATG, still felt a bit of the blade there, but manageable. Overall quite a nice shave, although I see areas where I could be much improved. I'll continue to try to incorporate the GC, and maybe the milder plate is what I need. Unfortunately those are not available at the moment unless someone here has one they don't want to keep?

Thanks for reading!

Prep: P.A.A. Cube 2.0 (face wash)

Razor: Alpha Shaving Works Bandit w/ open comb (no lather drain) base plate (prototype)
Blade: Gillette Minora Platinum

Soap: Barrister & Mann Four Horsemen Famine
Brush: Yaqi Purple Haze (synthetic)
Bowl: Bluff Cove Pottery

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum No-Slip Grip System w/ Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Post 3: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry w/ Hyaluronic Acid

I decided to shave on consecutive days due to the limited time there is for me to try my Four Horsemen samples and put in a pre-order for any that I'd like to own in a full size.

Today I went with Famine. Right off the bat this one is the one I liked most when simply smelling them in their bags. It has more floral notes on top of Death's base, which I have to say makes for an overall very unique scent. These Four Horsemen scents are quite different from any fragrance I've smelled before.

I did a fairly quick three-pass shave, this time going back to using the open-comb base plate with no lather drains and again using the Gillette Minora Platinum blade. I'm loving the razor but man, this Minora blade keeps biting me. I've not cut myself more in the last, I don't know how many years, than I have in the last two days. I'm not sure if this is all due to this razor/blade combo or just the blade alone. I'll have to test this blade in a more familiar razor to come to any real conclusion.

I finished things off in my typical fashion and chose not to use any other aftershave so that I could allow the scent of Famine to linger as long as possible.

All in all a good shave but am left with some irritation. Thankfully the (unscented) Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream saves the day. This stuff really goes a long way to soothing razor burn.

Rock on gentlemen. Enjoy your shave!

Sunday AM Shave

Soap: Stirling Executive Man
Brush: WCS Badger
Blade: Gillette Platinum (4)
Razor: Timeless Ti 0.95 Hybrid SB/OC
A/S: Clubman Classic Vanilla, followed by Nivea Creme
Notes: Thanks to a fellow shaver in this forum, I was able to add this Ti 0.95 Hybrid. The shave was smooth and super comfortable, is an easy 9/10. With a 3-pass, pretty close to a BBS. It's been 12 hours and still feels good. I see why so many have praised the 0.95. Welcomed addition to my rotation.
