[Image: XPTQL9e.jpg]RR Sunday
It was a nice, easy, smooth feeling shave today. I am a little sad to see the donut in my Rhapsody, but I've enjoyed every minute of it. I'm glad it's coming back next year. I'll be sure to use up what I have by then. I noticed that the Colonel uses much more lather than my HIS synthetic. I wonder if that is just what badgers do, or if the Simpson is just more of a hog than other badgers.
The Cologne Russe stung more than expected, and that is because I used a 9-9-7 progression instead of my usual 9-7-7. That one pass made a big difference in sting, but not as big in how smooth my skin feels. In other words, the trade off is not worth it. Back to 9-7-7 for me.

Prep: warm shower, Dove+ Men hydrate
Soap: B&M Rhapsody
Brush: HIS synthetic
Razor: 1959 FatBoy 9-9-7
Blade: Voskhod (2)
AS: B&M Cologne Russe, Shea Moisture Balm

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso - Sandalwood
Soap: Meißner Tremonia - Dark Limes + Ach Brito Lavanda cream
Bowl: Fine Accoutrements
Brush: Mervyn 24mm silvertip
Razor: Feather Popular + double shim
Blade: Sputnik (3)
After: WH, Captain's Choice Bay Rum AS, Sandalwood Skin Food

After the first use of this cheap razor being way too mild I tried adding a shim the following day; still too mild. Today I used two shims; a PAL (which is very thick) and a Derby shim. That just about turned it into a very useful razor. DFS, a gnat's crotchet away from a BBS. So, after all, this will be a keeper razor for travelling; a bit of a pain having to take 2 shims with me but I guess I can lug the extra weight.
Finishing off my Meißner Tremonia - Dark Limes sample soap. This soaps lasts for ages I had a tiny smidge of it pressed into the bottom of a dish and still was enough for a shave although a added a touch of Lavanda cream to make sure I had enough for three passes. In fact I think the lavender scent goes very nicely with the earthy dark limes scent.

Anyhow, enough gas, have a great day folks.

[Image: 0PaFYM6.jpg]Not a great shave
I realized this blade was a dud after half of the first pass. I switched, but the damage was already done. No big cuts, just irritated skin. All the other products worked great. Excellent lather and matching aftershave helped put out the fire.

Prep: Van Yulay PSO
Soap: Krampert's Finest Frostbite
Brush: HIS XL
Razor: 59 FatBoy 9-7-7
Blade: Voskhod (3)
