Good morning dudes.
Today has been a great shave. I had been waiting for some time to try these new Grooming Dept soaps and the wait was really worth it.
Except for the after, the rest has been a full of GD: pre-shave, soap and serum.
The pre-shave has surprised me very pleasantly, with a texture similar to that of honey, with very little amount distributed on the skin and adding a few drops of water to create a protective and very slippery film, which in addition to preparing the skin for the blade, in a minute you notice the hair of the beard much softer and fatter so the shaving is easier. In the instructions it says that it also helps to create a lather with more consistency, but as I have lathered in suribachi, I have not been able to verify it.
It has been a great purchase, there is a lot of quantity, little product is needed and the aroma is exquisite.
The soap ... buf ... what am I going to tell you! I've been wanting to try it for some time and it's been worth it. It is a soap made with its base Lusso, and the qualitative jump with respect to the last tallow I have, the Mallard Kulfi, has been spectacular. A dense lather, with body and that is fixed to the skin with tremendous ease. The aromatic notes of Veritas that I can distinguish in this soap are leather, chocolate and Cognac, so this soap will pass to my rotation of cold weather soaps. The fixation and intensity of the perfume would be at a medium-high point. It is a pleasure to carry the brush in the suribachi and that the bathroom is impregnated with this rich perfume.
One of the things that I liked most about this Lusso base is the post it leaves, the craftsman recommends applying the comfort foam, letting it act for a while and removing it with water, and here comes the trick to take more advantage of its properties, not dry with a towel and let the face air dry.
A hug and have a great Friday!
