SOTD - 2019.08.28
Growth: 24h
Brush: Serrano by fm - 24mm silvertip
Soap: Eufros Gea
Razor: Rex Ambassador
Blade: Persona (1)
Post: lather face wash, alum, concoction (*), Gea aftershave balm
Passes: 2 - WTG (4-3), XTG (2-1.5)
Rating: 3.5/5 - average
(*) witch hazle 50ml, 5ml glycerin, tea tree (10), Argan (25), bergamot (10), pachuli (5), menthol crystals - (drops)
Today was my first shave with the Rex Ambassador and it’s been a very average shave with some irritation around the neck.
The Rex with the configuration I’ve used is a lot more agresiva than my Rockwell with its R6 plate. I would dare to say that the Rex at 3 is equivalent to an R6 plate on the Rockwell (perhaps even a tad more) and a 2 is about and R5.
It has a lot more blade feel and you really need to be more careful.
Tomorrow I will go for a much milder setting.
I do love, however, how well it shaves under the nose.
