Since I was lathering up Chats With Grandpa, today's shave seemed to call for some kit more like what grandpa might have used.  I'm not sure grandpa used much cologne, but the rest of the gear seemed close enough to what he would have shaved with. 

I got turned on to Hub City soaps while reading Stubble Daddy's Shave Journal of Awesomeness and Honesty.  My first two shaves went quite well - one with a Jar of Red Cabin in the Woods, and one with a sample of Chats with Grandpa.  It's easy to whip up a very effective lather, the scents are pleasant, and so far, the post seems excellent.  I also have a sample of Friday Night Lights, and will probably put that one in the batter's box next week.  Keep in mind though, that their Raider base is not vegan and it has lanolin.  Neither of those is an issue for me, but it might be for you.

It really is a stunning brush/handle, my friend. You need to photograph it, outdoors, some time when the weather improves.
