The Blade With Two Edges

[font=Courier New]It was a dark and shavey night. [/font]Friday, they said.

I had it all figured out:
   prep - my usual: a hot shower with Caprina Fresh Goat’s Milk Original bar soap. The soap bar tender was nowhere to be found, so I helped myself to it.
   razor - QShave Adjustable
   blade - Shaverboy Super Stainless (8)
   brush - Fendrihan Classic Pure Grey Badger
   soap - Godrej Shaving Round
   post - also my usual: warm water rinse, DSA “Pure & Natural” alum, cold water rinse
   aftershave - Jeris Osage Rub
   music - Nuthin' but the tick, tick, tick of the clock on the wall. It had a chunk of plastic busted off one side from when it fell on the floor this one time ... maybe two times, I dunno ... and it was at least five hours slow, but it let me know that I was still alive.

I think I've gotten the hang of using the Godrej. In my first encounter with Godrej I used a Wee Scot and charged it from the puck in the small Godrej container. It was okay, but I could tell that this soap had a lot more to offer. This time I dropped it into the stainless steel lather bowl, poured a bit of hot water on it, and dumped most of it out. I let it bloom during the shower.

Then I kept sprinkling on more and more water while I made like a paint brush with the badger. I ended up with an abundance of creamy lather. I squeezed off a round the round and returned it to its cozy little container.

The scent. The scent still haunts me. Somewhat like an industrial cleaner with a hint of, what, anise? Maybe. Even so, it was much nicer than Arko's, if you ask me. In the end, Godrej gave me a great BBS shave and that's all a guy can ask for, right? I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Oh yeah — I suppose you're still wondering about the Osage Rub. Well, I kind of got carried away with it (as one does) and for the next ten minutes my eyes were watering. Doesn't mean I didn't like it though.
