hawns, I am so looking forward to the St. Louis Shave Meetup. Airline tickets to St. Louis? √. Hotel room booked? √. Tickets to Shave Meetup? √. Light rail and bus directions to Tower Grove Park? √. Now, I just know you are going to bribe Mother Nature for some ideal San Diego weather in St. Louis. You know, sunny, 72°, gentle breeze.

Wow, that surprises me, Will. One of the great things I found with Desmond's Barrow was the incredible lather I got from it and San Diego has hard water. If Glasgow is like much of Scotland I should think you have soft water making a lather buildup pretty easy.

First use of this brush, that has undergone a home made treatment with chemicals meant to soften its tips, successfully, I have to say, but that has resulted in a funny "blonde" tone on its hair. Time will tell how much I have damaged the knot but it was a cheap knot anyway, and this brush is intended as a travel brush, it won't be part of my regular rotation. Some other fellows at the Spanish forums have done this kind of "procedure" before and so far, they haven't reported problems with the knots being overdamaged.
Beautiful three pass shave with this excellent soap. I know there are a lot of other artisan soaps that are so good, and so worth being tried, but you know the saying, if it works...
