My first shave with the Rocnel Sailor adjustable; word of caution, use a flat surface to load the blade or the top cap may shoot off like a torpedo or you'll cut your finger off, lol. I started at setting 3 of 5 for both passes and found it to be as aggressive as the Charcoal Goods Level 2 SB (maybe a tad bit more) with a little more blade feel. It was close in smoothness to the CG L2 as well. I enjoyed the shave and find the Sailor to be a fine razor both in appearance and performance.

Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
Schick Platinum
Gillette Nacet
Cella of Hagen Street
Stirling Boar (24mm, Frigate Class)
Baxter Of California Shave Tonic & ASB
Yesterday I combined an ounce of Van Der Hagen Deluxe, a half ounce of Cella and a third ounce sample of Jeeves Conservatory to make the Cella of Hagen Street soap.Lathered it up this morning and got mostly Cella, but it made an amazingly creamy slick lather. Applied it to my face with the big Stirling boar and wiped away lather and whiskers with a somewhat rare Schick DE, The Platinum. The Platinum was Schick's last stab at the DE market as cartridge razors were beginning to gain popularity in the early 1970's. The head geometry is pretty much identical to the Krona, which makes it a fantastic mild shaver. Paired with a nice sharp blade (it CAN cut an alligator in half you know) I did three passes and decided to chase the baby with some touch-ups. With the baby firmly in hand I finished with the Baxter Duo for my daily dose of menthol. Have a great long weekend everyone!!
