Once more, it has been corroborated that the MWF&boar brush combo works flawlessly. This Semogue 1305, nonetheless, has a tendency to swallow your lather unless you give it a very frequent use, in which case that tendency is not as accentuated. When I reached for it after my first pass, I barely had lather remaining for my second. So I grabbed my bowl, loaded some more soap and whipped some extra lather for a minute or so, obtaining enough for the two following passes plus comfort.

I had a three days growth this time, and to honor the truth, I couldn't remember since when I had skipped shaving for two days in a row. The result wasn't significantly better than when I give my skin a single day break for the sake of proper recovery, so I doubt I will repeat it in the near future. Three passes (WTG, 2xXTG) and BBS. I love "The Fat".

I may be the millionth person to say it, but this Rhino soap by Chiseled Face is really really nice stuff

hawns , I thought of you and your collaborations when I saw this soap - can you give us your breakdown on the scent? I'm hesitant because of the emphasis on leather in the promo. I like leather how you do it but whenever I hear leather I have PTSD flashbacks to Tiki Bar Out West which is LEATHER!!! and nothing else.

Timeless Razor 0.95 Scalloped | Voskhod [1]
Edwin Jagger XL Synthetic | Silvertip Fibre v2.0
Mike's Natural Soap | Pine & Cedarwood
Chanel EDT | Bleu de Chanel

Have been getting great shaves with this combination, probably my go-to blade for my TR0.95S. Very very smooth and I almost don't nick myself with this blade. But I am still in the testing phrase of blades with TR0.95S, I hope it won't be Polsilver, since it is discontinued...

Mike's Natural Soap... used this three times in this week and I still believe it is an excellent performer, however I am at the point where Mike's just felt a little underwhelming as compared to other soaps I have. Don't get me wrong, Mike's is a fantastic soap, but I just feel that with so many artisan out there, and me tried a lot of them, Mike's just felt like just any good artisan soaps. Maybe it is due to nostalgic feeling that I rank Mike's Natural Soap so high, as it is the first big artisan that I have try. But if I just open my eye and just judge on performance itself... it's good, but not as good as I though.

Mike's may slip out of my second placing of my favourite soap from 2016!

I was very impressed with this collaboration as this scent is perfectly on brand for Chiseled Face. Seems like a match made in heaven.

I wouldn't worry too much about the leather being overwhelming. There are the rich wood notes, some sweetness underneath from the amber, musk, tobacco and rum, plus the kick from the herbs, pine and agar give it a punch. A lot of people say how earthy it is, but I find it to be a rich and rewarding animalic scent. It may not be for everyone necessarily, but I see a lot of people who have been pleasantly surprised by the scent, including myself. I caught a big whiff of rum off of the puck, which initially had me worried, but it really comes together once lathered. Very nice stuff!
