Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.
Great shave today. Went back to limes, this time with Phoenix Shaving's "Sci-Fi Lime" soap and splash. Great scent! Nice tart lime but there's an added element, a depth that pushes it slightly away from just citrus and more toward "barbershop" territory. Fantastic lather too built with the QED Select Manchurian badger brush for two passes (+ touch-up) with the Phoenix Shaving "META-4" and I finished with the matching after shave splash.
Hope you have a wonderful day.

Last shave with the WR1 .61. I have had the WR1 head on loan from a generous forum member. Ultimately, I don't think the WR1 is the strongest fit for my shaving preferences and beard profile. Having said that, this is a very interesting razor. With consistent vigilance on technique, I could achieve fairly strong levels of BBS. The .61 nameplate gap belies its potential effectiveness.
Upon receiving the WR1, initial guidance included: "ride the cap." And I found that guidance resulted in the most effective and smooth outcomes. Only in my most demanding areas did BBS outcomes and duration suffer somewhat, relative to other razors in my current rotation. I also noticed that deviation in technique and pressure modulation had a tendency to leave just a bit of "sting" at the finish. Overall I am happy to have had the opportunity to sample the razor and will continue to consider Wolfman options.
