Hot Water Splash
Timeless Ti .95 SB Matte head, with CG Copper Magnum
Feather (4)
Cold River Soap Works “Oliva” soap
Vintage EveryReady 1000, restored with a new 22mm High Mt. White hybrid knot (The “Cloud” ... Super Soft and fluffy)
Three passes, DFS-BBS

The Ti 0.95 helped tame the Feather blade without sacrificing closeness. The CG Magnum handle looks like a million bucks but sort of defeats the purpose of the Ti head.  Pretty looking, but out of balance.  (Still, the weight provides longitudinal inertial dampening... How’s that for looking on the bright side?).  The EveryReady 1000 is new to me and delightful. It’s mellowed to a beautiful faux ivory color and the handle is unusual and easy to wield.  The 22mm knot is super soft.  No backbone, but so what?  Sometimes fluffy is just what the Dr. ordered.  The soap is super slick and glistening.  I overloaded and the result was sort of entertaining.  (The loaded brush in this photo was after I finished shaving).  I can very clearly smell the olive oil, and I’m reserving judgement on that for now.  My skin is definitely very happy though, so it’s all good.

Happy Shaves!

SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 17, 2021

Woke up to a bright, sunny, 22°F morning. Grabbed my recently acquired H. Hobson Sheffield wedge. I’m definitely going to tung oil the carved scales, as they look like they could use it. Shaving with this wedge reminded me of yesterday’s Feather DX mug shave, quiet, yet remarkably efficient. The A&E Shaving butter is rapidly becoming one of my favorite software accessories and greatly enhanced the shave! I adjusted the Eclipse Red Ring to its most efficient (aggressive?) setting and enjoyed a great dome shave albeit with a minor weeping bump removal on the first pass on the left side of the noggin which disappeared after the second pass. I feel clean, refreshed and velveteen smooth!

RAZOR: H. Hobson Sheffield Wedge (Mug), Eclipse Red Ring (Dome)
BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JT Sapele/Resin Handled Omega Pro48 Boar Knot
CREAM : A&E Shaving Butter
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with A&E Post-Shave Serum.
