Razor: Gillette Aristocrat
Blade: Personna SS (1)
Brush: WDC-8 Brass Handle w/TGN Finest.
Soap: Route 66 Rum Runner
Aftershave: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Incredible shave tonight with the new Rum Runner soap from Route 66. This soap has a bright white citrus and ginger top notes over sweet hay, sandalwood and cinnamon. Anchored with Sugar Cane Rum and Birch Wood. Like all Retro Shave Shop soaps are long lasting, slick lather, with protective cushion and glide, soothing post shave conditioning. This brush is my own creation and it has a heavy handle with a good knot and works up a great lather every time with any soap.
Great to get back to a vintage classic razor that provides a BBS shave to start the week.

That Bald Guy with the Big Beard
Bishop, CA
Maggard's Tobacco & Leather Soap
Crown King Duro synthetic in tali wood
Wade & Butcher "Special Project"
Old Spice splash

Couldn't resist the urge to shave with this thing. For a razor that was otherwise trash, it gave a very acceptable shave. In fact, with a modified handle and some practice, I think it could provide and excellent shave experience...

When I was differentiating between soaps and creams, I guess I forgot for a moment the whole concept of superlather — ideally, the best of both worlds. Smile

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake Razor, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point

Whenever I shave with this Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake Razor, I cannot help thinking about the day Mastro Livi made this razor for me while I was shooting the video of the making. It took a whole day, from morning to early morning of the day after - I remember I was home at around 7:00AM of the day after - but it has been worth every minute I spent there while watching Mastro Livi making this masterpiece. This Snake Razor delivers a heavenly shave, a pleasure added to the amazement of watching such a piece of art. For today's shave I used one of my favorite shaving soaps - Martin de Candre - a super performing soap, capable of making a luxurious, creamy and smooth lather with just a very tiny quantity to be loaded in the brush while being capable of holding a good quantity of water. A special mention goes to the shave brush, a lovely gift a friend of mine - Roberto - made for me and in which has been mounted a wild badger loft, with a lovely handle made of black locust.

  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
  • Soap: Martin de Candre Fougère
  • Brush: Roberto's Brush, Wild Badger, Robinia - Black Locust Handle, 24mm Knot
  • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Medium Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake Razor, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point
  • Post-Shave: Alum Block
  • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
  • After Shave: Old Spice Original

Amazing shave today for the end of my summer. Teachers report today, and students come in next week. I cannot find enough superlatives for Myrsol Emulsion... combined with BM Cologne Russe, I could barely feel my Futur on six, such was the quality of the glide and protection. The aftershave barely stung, and I added a little bit more of Myrsol to provide a soothing cool for a very satisfying menthol Monday.
