SOTD Wednesday, July 15
Stubble: 24hrs.
Pre: Hot Water Splash
Soap: Mix of TOBS (unknown) and Shannon’s Soaps Haymarket
Brush: Zenith Boar
Bowl: CC Heavy Copper
Razor: Razorock Mamba 70 w/Ti handle
Blade: Personna Med Prep (2)
Result: DFS-BBS
My first boar brush. Came in last weekend. This was my third use. The knot is short and initially very stiff. I bought it used, but it appears unused. I suspect this knot will become really wonderful after a few more uses. The hair appears to be of a very good quality, and the knot is very densely packed. However, I bought it because of the handle. My lovely and brilliant bride is of Italian descent, and I suspected she’d appreciate this nod to Italian culture. Italy, and the Italian people, are celebrated throughout the world for their Incredible food, fine and fast cars and motorcycles, art, fashion, fabrics, architecture, generosity and loyalty, intelligence... the list goes on and on. The Italians know a lot about the relationship between beautiful design and top shelf performance and function. When I wield this brush, I stop and reflect on the incredibly rich history of Italy and the Italian culture. Needless to say, the brush was, and is, delightful. So here’s to Italy and Italians! Happy Shaving to all.
