Sandalwood Showdown
I got a sample of Mühle Sandalwood cream from a local apothecary and I decided to compare it with Reef Point's take on this classic scent. I applied the cream to one side of my face and lathered the soap on the other. This was a great shave overall, so both products do their job well. I'll give the nod to Reef Point, though, because the scent is more pleasing and I am biased toward soaps. Neither has a super strong scent, nor as warm as Proraso Red. The Mühle cream kind of looks like Proraso, with a certain shiny, almost silvery sheen. Reef Point lathers very easily and provides plenty of slick protection. TTFFC For Flint is a nice compliment, and leaves my face well cared for, supple and smooth.
Prep: Jack Black Nourishing Oil
Lather: Reef Point Sandalwood, Mühle Sandalwood cream
Brush: HIS
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Voskhod
AS: TTFFC For Flint

What's that Mdc about a year old! I thought that was how Mdc always looked until I had mine a couple of years and started noticing it going down. Great stuff!
Prep: Hot shower
Pre: S.M.Novella pre-shave
Soap: Saponificio Varesino - Fern
Bowl: Estremoz Scuttle
Brush: Whipped Dog 24mm synthetic
Razor: Weber + Bulldog handle
Blade: Feather (2)
After: SV Fern AS, C&E W.Indian Lime ASB
Yesterday's shave with this Feather blade was an expected BBS but on its second use it felt tuggy, scratchy and nicked me a few times. Honestly, two shaves and the blade's done! What a rip-off! Well I've tried again to like Feather blades but there are too many negatives.
Also tried to like this SV soap, left some water on top off the soap to soak overnight but it just created a gunky mess. Loaded the soap heavily and used by best synthetic and what's the result - passable lather, slippery as a squid in butter but no body. Meh!
On the plus side the SV AS is lovely.
Have a great weekend folks.
