Yousa good egg, Mr. Bread.

Questions:
1. Does D1 or F4 Date code matter?
2. Would you consider one already plated?
3. Who is your player? Who do you plan to use?
4. What finish you want? Gold, nickel, white rhodium?
5. Std Toggle or maybe something a little more rare, like an F4 Chrome Toggle? Or heaven forbid, a Serial?
6. What is the budget?

Not trying to be difficult/intrusive but it may make a difference. Ive been down this road and might be able to help, depending on what you have in mind.

Feel free to hit me via PM too.

Good luck friend.

Hey James. Not intrusive in any way. I have one vintage and have little knowledge in the topic

1. Does D1 or F4 Date code matter?  No
2. Would you consider one already plated? Yes
3. Who is your player? Who do you plan to use? Backroadsgold? He’s been really nice to me over the past few weeks with questions.
4. What finish you want? Gold, nickel, white rhodium? Any. Probably not 24k because mine give me anxiety about use due to softness
5. Std Toggle or maybe something a little more rare, like an F4 Chrome Toggle? Or heaven forbid, a Serial? I don’t know the differences. Doesn’t need to be too exotic. The regular razor is special enough for my non-collector needs.
6. What is the budget? I paid $360 for a 24k gold plated a few years back. I have no idea what they’re going for now   Here’s mine[Image: Qum7sKu.jpg]

A couple of things. If your razor is plated in 24kt by a reputable source, the 24kt isn't likely going anywhere. The originate finish is a gold wash from Gillette. Over time, it certainly comes off. You can't hurt it, run it hard friend.

I have a 1958 D1 white rhodium done by Razor Emporium. I used it once.. White rhodium is the brighter than nickel. It is also a little brittle. There have been reports of the plate at the top of the toggle cracking. Won't prevent use, just cracks, or so I have read. I dont consider it a deal breaker, obviously but something to consider since it is a gift for your father. If you are interested, I will clean the dust off and get it photo ready.

I assume you have plenty of time, since you have Backroads on standby. No pressure on my end. My toggle won't go anywhere in the meantime.

Hopefully, summa this helps.
