In a mail call I got, among other things, SC Endurance soap and balm. Thanks to steeleshaves, I was inspired to get a bottle of Old Spice a couple of months ago and, even though it's probably not the original Shulton formula, I love it. Endurance is Soap Commander's effort to present the original Old Spice fragrance and, to my sniffer, it's a success as far as the soap. The smell is dead on, as I recall (I have a bottle of the version made in India on the way). If you're reading this, you probably know that Soap Commander soaps are superb. Slick, protective, easy to lather. And fairly priced. Endurance is great. I used my Feather AC with a new Feather ProGuard blade and had a great shave.

The balm misses the mark a bit scent-wise. Maybe because of the menthol. It smells good but it's not on par with the soap. The performance, though, is exceptional.

I finished it off with a liberal dousing of Old Spice.

Soap Commander is my favorite artisan maker of vegan soaps by far, and I'm glad to report that Endurance is what I'd have to call a perfect soap.

Thanks for the review, Strop. It's nice to see artisans keeping the Old Spice scent alive. I have a tub of Stirling Spice on order. I'm going to have to add Endurance to my wish list.

Please let me know how you like it. Didn't know Stirling made an OS scented soap. For tallow soaps, Stirling and Reef Point are my favorite artisans. I find their soaps quite different but the performance of both is stellar. Eager to hear how it smells. My wife--who pretty much hates fragrances--loves Old Spice and, to her credit, Floid Blue.

I actually find I like the Endurance ASB scent better than the soap, but they are both nice. It's one of my favorite scents out there. I also have Stirling Spice and feel the Stirling is a slightly better match to vintage Shulton OS. The Endurance is slightly more powdery. The Stirling Spice AS splash is an absolute clone to my bottle of vintage OS.

This is what's great about this forum. Thanks to you and Whence, who mentioned Stirling Spice, I ordered the soap and the splash. I am so excited to hear that the splash is a clone to vintage OS! Thanks to both of you.

I like the Stirling Spice splash so much I use it almost every day. The Stirling balms are pretty good too, especially for the price, but I favor Soap Commander ASB slightly more. The Spice splash will pair nicely with Endurance ASB and it should last you most of the day.
