There's so many hairs on a brush that big.

I'm glad to hear it's cleared up!

I told my wife I wanted a dog that didn't shed. I don't wear black very often now. Sometimes you love the dog or the wife too much to just send them back.

My thought is that if you have a new brush, the reason you would have longer hairs come out is due to the fact that the glue or epoxy used for the knot doesn't get EVERY SINGLE hair. To me, shedding refers to a bad glue plug (quality control is lacking or process isn't quite there) or over repeated use, you have knots that get damaged through improper strong between uses or soap being left in the knot. That will eat away at the glue strength and then you have loose hairs coming out.

If you have shorter hairs coming out, that is not shedding in my opinion. That is hairs being broken mid shaft so it has more to do with the way it is being used rather than the brush itself.

A few years ago I purchased (new) Simpsons Chubby 2 in best. It shed for a few months when ever I used it. Then it quit and has never shed again. However, the Chubby has a very dense knot. My Thater 26mm 4125 has not shed so far. It is brand new.
