my wife went on a cleaning spree and ended up throwing out the small tub of unrefined shea butter we had in our bathroom. truth be told, I'm not a huge fan of unrefined shea butter as I find it stinks and can be grainy at times. that said, I don't mind shea butter itself... I know there are some refined shea butters out there that are better than others but I cannot remember the brands/types to look for. I think there were discussions at some point in time of shea butters being better from certain parts of Africa than others.

celestino, maybe you can inform me!

We’re working with cupuacu butter. Might be better than Shea for you.

Unrefined Shea is stinky? Say it ain't so! Just kidding my friend. I certainly don't find the scent off putting but enjoy it although some are smoker than others. My wife is on your team and doesn't appreciate unrefined but loves it's moisturizing properties. I/we don't find one better than the other. Refined has no scent to my nose and although it lacks the mystical healing properties of raw, it retains the awesome moisturizing power to turn her crispy heels back into feet. I think you will be happy with any refined butter from the neighborhood drugstore.

Sorry, Andrew. I have only been using one type of shea butter for over 15 years, so I don't have much experience with which ones are the best.
I am sure if you go to a local health food store and ask, you should be able to find a good organic unrefined shea butter in a smooth consistency.

She Nilotica that I use (got it from Amazon) stinks a lot less than others I have tried.

Also, whipped shea butter from Mystic Water is excellent as well. (Earth Rose is a fantastic scent)

if you don't mind, why do you think it might be better for me than shea butter?

I have a very sensitive nose and to me, the smell is meh...it's not like a disgusting smell or something that I think would bothers those around me.

yes, I ended up picking up 4oz of the nilotica shea butter on etsy from this store: https://www.etsy.com/listing/517087808/r...hea-butter

seems like a great deal with free shipping! if I like it, I can order more when I run out!

My research has found that it’s a great replenishment of skin moisture and is very good on dry skin. Smells like chocolate too and is smooth.

Celestino tuned me into the Unrefined Shea - and my current favorite [tried several] is the loccitane Unrefined. Comes in a Yello and blue tin. It is expensive but has no odor.

As several folks have mentioned- mystic waters has a whipped shea - it is very nice but the unscented is meh [scent], and i didn't care for the other scents too much.

I don't want to smell this in my routine - so I like the loccitane. [Image: ab6ab494e217194edc559e0fe34f95a4.jpg]
