When you buy 2, then yes. If you only buy 1 at a time then it's closer to $80. It's like MdC but easier to get the best price point. I went in with another shaver years ago to combine shipping from France for MdC. We ended up paying about $54 per pot of MdC.

Well that's a no-brainer. Nuàvia is a vegan soap while Mike's is one of the butteriest soaps out there. If you have dry skin then Mike's will always seem to have better post-shave. It's not rocket science. My oily skin found Mike's to leave me greasy feeling so I much prefer the post feel from Nuàvia. $43 each is an excellent price and that's basically like buying 2 now and getting 1 free. I have no problem with the price I paid but I do hope that some refill options become available in the near future.

SharpSpine, I had the same experience with Mike's. I'm personally not a fan. My favorite part of Nuavia's post-shave is that it leaves the skin feeling exceptionally moisturized without leaving it at all shiny or greasy. A rare trait in my experience.

Yes....couldn't pass those prices up and Marco says unopened and kept dark and cool they will last years with virtually no scent loss.

I have only used Mike's in the winter as I do find it a bit much in the summer months...so you have a fair point there. I can use Haslinger year round on the other hand.

Nuavia crocs are wonderful additions and great soaps, just surprised the price was raised that much, and no refills are offered for the crocs.
A citrus scent would be a fun addition.

This wasn't a case of capitalizing on demand in order to raise prices IMO. From what I read elsewhere Marco had always listed the original price as an introductory price - it was meant to be a temporary discount to incentivize purchases by early adopters.

I personally didn't care for either of these soaps and I dont usually post negatively about an artisan but I feel compelled to do so here. I emailed Penna about the scent and Penna told me it has a synthetic base to it unlike MDC. I also feel that not selling refills without the ceramic bowl is taking advantage of there own customers. Again guys that just my take away. There was an active duty solider who commented on one of the forums that he wanted to buy both of these but was short on money so I PM'd him and gave him both, I even paid the shipping. Know what? I make me feel great!!

NeoXerxes, so is it your opinion or is it a fact?  When I purchased my duo, right after they were released, I did not see anything in their site indicating this was an introductory prize.  They held that price for quite some time before they went up.  

That's why I'm saying they capitalized on the hype, these babies were selling like hot cakes, and rightfully so, I would have done the same.  Plus the talk on the shaving sites was non stop, I'm sure they saw that.  More power to them, I have no problem with good old capitalism.

As I mentioned I read this elsewhere (on other forums I believe). I presented it as my opinion since it cannot be independently verified as fact without some investigative legwork, but I'm betting that was the rationale. Also, the artisan has said on numerous occasions (and I believe him) that the soap is expensive to produce. You could also be right for all we know, or it could be some combination of the three issues.

I couldn't care less either way. It's worth the money in my book.
